Michelle + Thor Los Angeles Backyard Wedding
I’m all for the unconventional ways of meeting people, especially since I feel like nowadays it’s usually through an app. But these two love birds met in none other than… a ceramics class! I’m also ALL about female empowerment and my girl Michelle was the one to ask Thor out on the first date all those years ago [YAAAS GIRL]. But when it came down to the most important question- that was Thor’s turn and he chose an epic location to propose- in front of a waterfall! And with their shared love of all things dogs (they currently are furparents to the sweetest rescue dog Bud), coffees and dinners (their favorite all time dates are anytime they are grabbing sushi with each other!) they are a match made in heaven.
I feel like I say this all the time, but this day felt perfect. From the first look, to the joy-filled intimate ceremony at their home church in San Gabriel, and finally ending with an epic dance party at their backyard reception hosted at the bride’s family home. There was great food, an epic donut bar in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, a photo booth, and of course the love and laughter that surrounded them from all of their closest friends and family.
…A little backstory into how Michelle and I met
It was none other than on Instagram via a styled shoot vendor call! While we never got to execute our plans for that particular styled shoot- we did end up collaborating for a WAY more important shoot- her own wedding! And man I LOVE when my clients are also in the wedding industry because the details AND florals were not lacking whatsoever throughout this day (Michelle runs her own floral company Iris & Barry Blooms– go check her out!!) And in regards to that missed styled shoot opportunity, keep a lookout for something really pretty coming soon!
