Thanks to COVID-19, Bobbie and Kyle had to change their wedding date three times before finally settling on Halloween Day. Like many 2020 couples, their wedding plans got flipped and switched around and took on new life, but these two really made it work. Especially once they settled on a backyard wedding at a family house in Salem, Oregon.
Let’s be honest, Kyle’s family’s backyard is absolutely stunning. This property could easily pass as a venue. But, in keeping with their theme of an intimate style wedding, Bobbie and Kyle really let that tight-knit backyard vibe flow through their classically gorgeous setting.
The day was absolutely magical. The couple had perfect weather and the warm autumn light really lent itself to spectacular photos. Especially with the fall leaves still hanging on the property’s trees!
In keeping with their theme of intimacy, Bobbie and Kyle chose to do a first look. After the big reveal, they exchanged a private message to each other against the backdrop of an old (and spooky looking) rustic shed on the property. Then, they walked back up to the main house with their furbabies in tow. And of course we got them in on some family photos as well!
Since their pups are incredibly important to them, Bobbie and Kyle made them a ring bearer and flower girl, and they walked down the aisle along with the wedding party. They were even the goodest puppers EVER and laid next to their parents during the entire ceremony. It truly was a special moment! After Bobbie and Kyle said their “I do!”s, the family knew it was time to party.
Since the wedding was on Halloween, there were deep purples and blacks incorporated into the theme. They even added a few cute Halloweeny decorations: like a mini skeleton bride and groom, and a pumpkin pitcher. The bride crafted all of the decor, florals, and centerpieces herself- talk about talent!
Then, after some well deserved eating, drinking and toasting, it was time to cut the cake. We ended the evening with some sunset portraits around the property and made sure to soak in all of the feels that the day had brought.
If you’re looking to throw a fabulous backyard wedding let me know. I’d love to help capture your special day!
