When Michelle of Iris and Barry Blooms told me about her idea to deck out a classic car with one of her creative flower installations and put it in the desert to be photographed, I was ALL in. I always LOVE getting the chance to collaborate on styled shoots with other wedding vendors because it’s a time where we can dream big and create and whole heartedly put together a vision to bring to life. And this one evolved and changed until it became a sweet little Vasquez Rocks 70’s inspired elopement, complete with the cutest picnic table setup (thanks to the wood working skills of her husband!).

And a little blurb from the visionary about the 70’s inspired elopement design:

(this shoot) it’s unconventional, groovy, and fun! Nowadays we see a lot of desert elopements with neutral flowers and pampas grass, and while that look is beautiful, we really wanted to encapsulate something unique, (not to mention also give (the bride and groom) a fun shoot to be a part of after their original plans were canceled!). This shoot features bright blooms, dried palms, 70’s accents, Southwestern decor, and the couples’ beloved bulldogs, Cricket and Briar. We want couples to be encouraged through a tough year and also know that they absolutely do not need to follow current trends or use cookie-cutter Pinterest images as inspiration- what makes a wedding beautiful is you and your love story and how you represent that! The more personal elements and memorabilia you incorporate (such as their Jeep Wagoneer), the better!
