Like many couples in the past year, Rebecca and Chandler had to overcome a lot of things just to get them to their “I do”s. But even with everything thrown at them and nothing exactly going as planned, these two got creative and put together the most perfect Mcmenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse Wedding. Actually, they had two weddings.
Okay so let me explain the whole “two weddings” thing. While it didn’t start off as the plan, R + C always knew they would be celebrating in September with their family and friends. As the world started to adjust and shift with restrictions, the pair decided that doing an intimate ceremony at their home church with close family in May and then doing a vow renewal on their originally planned later date was the perfect fit for them. Luckily I was available for both dates and am always down for whatever and wherever my couples need me to be!
It was a sunny and perfect mid-May day when these two promised forever. The day started in SE Portland with Becca getting her hair and makeup done and taking a few getting ready shots with her mom and sister. We then headed over to a little park near the church to meet up with Chandler for their first look under a beautiful oak tree. After capturing a few special moments around the park, we made our way to the church so they could say their vows and make it officially official with a small number of family members as witness.
Now let’s talk about their equally emotional and gorgeous Mcmenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse wedding reception. These two got another beautiful day to celebrate in September with their extended family and friends. The reception was held at the octagonal barn and barn yard at Mcmenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse and the wedding party was killing it in gold and navy. R + C also got some extra use out of their ceremony day wedding clothes. From the beautifully wild floral arrangements by Floral Designs by Alicia to the assortment of fun lawn games, this reception was both perfectly simple and a fun place for guests to mingle and enjoy the sunshine.
The whole day was so relaxed and full of love, from the wedding party and family photos, to the celebratory throwing of petals on the bride and groom as they made their way to the altar to re-affirm their vows, and ending with a dinner full of laughter and sharing of memories. And even ended with some cake smashing too. While my original plan was to leave right as dinner started, their families insisted that I share a meal with them and I am so glad that I did. Getting to hear all about their love story from their loved ones’ speeches was so special and reminded me why I love to do what I do.
